According to the United Nation’s labor agency, the number of unemployed people around the world rose above 200 million last year. They also claimed that job opportunities failed to grow at the same pace as the global workforce. An estimated 201.8 million people were unemployed during 2013, which is 4.9 million more than in 2012.  The International Labor Organization reported an uneven global economic recovery and stated that East and South Asia together accounted for more than 45 percent of the increase last year. The unemployment rate was placed at 6 percent, the same as the previous year. The ILO expects little improvement this year, estimating the rate increasing to 6.1 percent with the number of unemployed rising another 4.2 million.
