Two workers were killed Monday morning after an explosion occurred at the International Nutrition plant in Omaha, Nebraska. There were 38 total workers at the plant when the blast befell. 10 other employees were hospitalized with significant injuries and one firefighter was also hospitalized. Key structural supports failed after the explosion let loose causing the second and third floors of the plant to collapse on the top of the first floor, knocking the electricity out. Workers were buried under debris while others fled for safety. The cause of the blast is still unknown. There were no hazardous chemicals leaked or spilled as a result of the blast. Authorities are not saying for sure there was an explosion, although workers and witnesses described hearing a blast. An investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently underway.
