In a speech to Congress Friday, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke urged Congress to do more promoting, hiring and growth in order to prevent the economy from slowing down even more. Bernanke proposed no new steps to boost the economy.

The speech, which was at the annual economic conference in Jackson Hole, implored Congress to keep pushing to help America regain its economic health. However, analysts agree that his speech reinforced that the Fed will not provide any new help.
