Apple reports major decline in sale of iPods

A report following the most recent quarter for Apple show that iPod sales are in fast decline. According to the Fortune 500 Company, the roughly 7.5 million iPods sold in the latest quarter is the lowest number sold since fall 2005 when the iPod was only four years old.

Despite the low sales, Apple still brought in $1.3 billion in sales but it is clear that the day of the iPod is coming to an end. CNN Money reports that elements such the steady disappearance of traditional hard drives, the rising popularity of the iPhone and the emergence of Android phones have contributed to the decline of iPod sales.
