Today the All-England Lawn Tennis Ground PLC announced that it will sell 2,500 Wimbledon Centre Court tickets good for a five year period covering 2016 to 2020 for $84,000. This is a 80 percent rise in cost from tickets sold for 2011 to 2015 matches. On average, each ticket for the 2016 to 2020 time period will cost $1,300 per day of the tournament. These tickets are being referred to as debenture tickets, and in addition to a seat at Centre Court, each debenture comes with a free pass for another person to enter Wimbledon, an option to dine in a private restaurant, and use of the Centre Court bar and facilities. All applications for debentures must be submitted by June 6, along with a down-payment of $23,500.
