Pakistan’s PM issues U.S. a warning

Following a NATO aircraft strike that killed two dozen Pakistan troops, Pakistan’s prime minister warned there would be “no more business as usual” with Washington. NATO called the event “tragic” and “unintended,” and the Pakistani military denies firing first in the incident. The Pakistani Taliban say Pakistan must respond in kind to the attack.

On Monday, Pakistan turned back 300 trucks transporting NATO supplies and fuel into Afghanistan. In an interview, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that Pakistan was re-evaluating its relationship with the United States. He cited possible violations of sovereignty during the Osama bin Laden raid that resulted in the deaths of Pakistani troops, and said he would maintain a relationship with the United States as long as there was respect for Pakistani sovereignty.
