Leila Lopes of Angola beat 88 other hopefuls to win the Miss Universe crown on Tuesday. Lopes wants to use what she has gained from the pageant to help combat HIV around the globe, and help her native Angola out of impoverishment. In the interview question given to the top five contestants, Lopes was asked what physical trait she would change. Lopes responded that she wouldn’t change anything, considering herself “endowed with inner beauty.”

Lopes says she has never had cosmetic surgery, and believes the key to looking good and staying healthy involves getting plenty of sleep, drinking lots of water, and using sunblock even when it’s not sunny. Judges and fans alike were won over by Lopes’ earnest nature and her genuine smile.
