Tiny Giant Food store closing its doors

0

The Tiny Giant Food supermarket in Old Town is closing for good. The shutdown of the 64-year-old store February 12 comes because Tiny Giant is operating stores many times the size of the 18,000-square-foot First Street location. Jamie Miller, a spokesman for the Landover-based chain, stated that it would have been impractical for them to remodel or expand. There are several other Giant supermarkets near the one that’s about to close. Other supermarket chains also operate in or near that market. All employees of the Old Town store have been offered jobs at other locations.
