D.C. Mayoral candidate Muriel Bowser has received an endorsement from President Obama, according to a statement by Boswer’s campaign released Monday. In this statement, Obama said he is “proud” to endorse her, as she is “a champion for working and middle-class families, and a passionate proponent of Washington, D.C.” Historically, the democratic nominee has won every mayoral election in the 40 years of D.C. self-rule. The polls in this race, with independent challengers Councilmember David Catania and former councilmember Carol Schwartz may be the closest since 1994.
