President Obama to promote energy policy

On Wednesday, President Barack Obama will be traveling west to promote his energy policy. The president will visit the nation’s largest operating photovoltaic plant in Boulder City, NV. The facility utilizes almost 1 million solar panels to power 17,000 homes. The White House reports that Obama will highlight his administration’s focus on diversifying the country’s energy supplies, including increasing renewable energy from sources such as wind and solar.

President Obama will then travel to gas and oil production fields, which are located on federal lands outside of Maljamar, N.M. Maljamar is the home of more than 70 active drilling rigs. During his time in N.M., the president will speak about his commitment to increasing domestic oil and gas production.
