The Washington Nationals claimed the National League East Division title and a spot in the payoffs by clinching a 3-0 win against the Atlanta Braves Tuesday evening. This advancement to the playoffs is the second in three years, the same number since the relocation and renaming of the franchise to D.C. in 2005. The team held celebrations in Atlanta last night. Their next game is a series against the New York Mets on Sept. 23 at Nationals Park.
