Mayor Vince Gray’s new deputy chief of staff voted in DC elections last year, but was a resident of Maryland at the time. The new deputy, Andi Pringle, was a resident of Montgomery County. She says, “If this was in error, I apologize.”

In an investigation, the voting irregularities were discovered by activist Dorothy Brizill and DCWatch.com. The case has been referred to the U.S. attorney’s office, according to the board of elections. Pringle has also worked on Howard Dean’s presidential campaign.
