On Tuesday, at approximately 4:40 p.m., a man in a Honda Civic followed a secret service motorcade carrying the president’s children through White House gates. Secret Service immediately stopped and searched the vehicle. It is unknown whether or not the man’s actions were deliberate or meant to cause harm. The incident resulted in a White House lock down and heavy road traffic and delays, as Pennsylvania Avenue was closed for more than 45 minutes.
