Police arrested 17 people in connection with a major drug operation Wednesday.
Twenty-six people total have been arrested in a case that police and FBI agents believe has been operating since October 2012. Seven of the 26 were arrested Monday in Texas.
Those involved are charged with trafficking drugs from Texas to D.C. and Maryland and if convicted could serve 10 years to life.
According to U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen, guns, cash, PCP and heroin were seized during a search of several related locations Wednesday.
Forty-five-year-old Juan Floyd and 27-year-old Juanita N. Culbreth of Maryland were among those arrested.
