DC officer shot during carjacking

An off-duty police officer was shot several times Wednesday morning when he found himself in the middle of a carjacking. The officer is out of surgery and remains in stable condition. Police have reported that three or four suspects in a maroon Nissan began firing shots at another vehicle at around 2:45 a.m. on Suitland Parkway near Stanton Road. They then drove to Pennsylvania and Southern and attempted to carjack thee officer and shot him, numerous times. The officer did not have the chance to fire back. Two of the suspects got away, but the one in the passenger seat was pulled out and arrested.
