Virginia State Police responded to a call on Saturday afternoon seeking help with a 17-year-old teenager threatening suicide. An officer arrived at the scene and approached the teenager, who was armed with a knife and lunged at the officer. The teenager was then subsequently shot. Both an autopsy and an examination are being done and the investigation is still ongoing. The officer involved in the shooting has been put on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation, authorities said.
