Starting Monday, the on-ramp to I-95 south from Alban Road in Northern Virginia will close permanently. The Virginia Department of Transportation advises that a drivers be aware of a detour that will take them onto Boudinot Drive and the Fairfax County Parkway before exiting onto I-95 south.
Virginia Megaprojects communications director, Steve Titunik, says that a flyover ramp will be completed by late 2014 to help control traffic in the area. The new ramp will be open to HOV and those who pay a toll. It will run southbound in the afternoon and northbound in the morning.
