Twenty-year-old Jamar K. Washington Jr. faces five years in prison and up to $2,500 in fines for wearing a clown mask into a local movie theater. Washington plead guilty on Monday to wearing a mask in public.

The incident occurred shortly after the Colorado massacre, which killed 12 and injured 58 people. Washington told police he had no knowledge of the shooting in Colorado. He also claimed he had worn the mask in other public places without any issues.

Washington, along with his friend Blake D. Newton, caused a panic as they walked into a movie theatre wearing clown masks. Newton is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
