Election Day issues to be investigated in Fairfax County

0

A bipartisan committee in Fairfax County will convene to discuss and investigate problems surrounding voting after long lines and confusion over polling places drew frustrated criticism on Election Day. Although the county reported an 80% voter turnout–higher even than in 2008 and well above the national average–many people had to wait for hours to cast their ballots. One issue the committee will address is the question of whether poll workers were properly trained. They are also concerned with the numbers of voters who may have been discouraged enough to go home without voting.
