A Virginia woman has pleaded guilty to taking bribes to provide ineligible individuals with driver’s licenses.

Forty-five-year-old Maria Cavallaro is a former employee at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles who admitted to accepting cash in exchange for issuing learner’s permits, identification cards, and driver’s licenses to applicants who were ineligible.

Cavallaro issued her plea Thursday and if convicted could face up to 10 years in prison.

Her sentencing is scheduled for January 31.
