Actor Don Cheadle is set to make his directorial debut with the Miles Davis biopic “Kill the Trumpet Player”.
It was confirmed by BiFrost Productions Wednesday that Cheadle will not only direct, but also star as the acclaimed jazz player in the film which was co-written by Cheadle and Steven Baigelman.
The movie will chronicle the life of Davis following his temporarily breaking from the music business and resurfacing in 1979.
Davis’ family will also contribute in the film’s collaboration and Ewan McGregor and Zoe Saldana will co-star.
The film’s production is scheduled to begin in June.
