An 8-month-old boy has died after being left in a hot, parked car in Arlington while his mother was at work.
Police were called to Inova Hospital on Friday after the child was brought there unresponsive. Officers responded to the call around 4:20 p.m., but the boy was pronounced dead later that afternoon
According to police, the mother, Zoraida Magali Conde Hernandez, intended to drop the baby off at daycare. It is not clear why the child was in the car as she was driving home from work. Hernandez has been charged with felony child neglect.
The weather in Arlington County on Friday was 90 degrees.
