Verizon customers in Alexandria may still be without landlines or internet today, after a contractor taking soil samples accidentally drilled through two copper cables of Verizon’s. The damage has affected close to 1,200 customer lines, and although Verizon has promised to work around the clock to repair the cables, customers expect limited service for several days. The return of service will rollout as possible over the next few days.
