Bryant Pegues ,an Alexandria deputy sheriff, was arrested on Tuesday evening for sexually assaulting an inmate at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center earlier that morning. The fifty-two-year-old was arrested and charged with Rape and Carnal Knowledge of an Inmate. The victim, an adult female, reported the incident to another deputy. Officials have stated that Pegues has been terminated from his duty with the Sheriff’s Office.
