The Washington Redskins overcame improbable odds and an ugly start Sunday afternoon to beat the New York Giants in a 23-10 victory. It was the fifth win for the Redskins, and their second win of the season against the Giants. For the Giants, it was the fifth loss in six games, who now risk missing the playoffs for the third straight year.

“The Giants, they’ve really been our nemesis around here the last five years,” said Redskins linebacker London Fletcher, “To sweep them, it means a lot, because they’re a well-coached football team.” Redskins relied heavily on their defense, intercepting Giants quarterback Eli Manning three times.
