With a 14-game winning, the No. 8 Maryland Terrapins rallied from a 22 point deficit before falling 87-83 to No. 2 Notre Dame on Monday night. The Irish built a 41-19 lead late in the first half, but Maryland’s Alyssa Thomas fought back with a 64-63 lead with 10 minutes left in the game. Notre Dame responded with a 10-2 run with Maryland never regained the lead, although the Terrapins closed in a one-point game with three and a half minutes left in the game. Thomas had 29 points and 12 rebounds for the Terrapins, her NCAA leading 17th double-double. Jewell Loyd had a career-high 31 points for the Irish while Kayla McBride scored 20 points. Two of Marylands’ three losses have come at home against the top two teams in the nation: Connecticut and Notre Dame.
