Major League Baseball owners have begun two days of meetings that will lead to the election of the new Commissioner. Upon Bud Selig’s departure, MLB Chief Operating Officer Rob Manfred, Boston Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner and MLB Executive Vice President of Business Tim Brosnan were picked by the committee as candidates. These three men were then asked to make presentations on Wednesday in front of the delegations from the 30 teams. Balloting is scheduled for Thursday where a three-quarters majority is need to win.
