Seat Pleasant’s City Council decided to evicted their Mayor, Eugene Grant, from his City Hall Office. Grant has worked from the City Hall offices ever since elected ten years ago and many believe his motives are “personal.” Councilwoman Aretha Stephenson of Seat Pleasant stated that this move is not a personal attack against the mayor. According to Stephenson, there is nothing in council’s charter that states they have to provide an office for the mayor,” “We made this decision because our employees have a right to work in a peaceful and non -hostile environment.” Mayor Grant plans to fight the eviction but for the moment, “I’m going to put a tent right there on Monday”, Grant said, referencing to the front yard of city hall, ” that will be my office.” The tent will go up on Monday.
