The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Monday that corporations closely associated with religious objections to the “contraception mandate” in President Obama’s health care law. Some businesses refused to offered contraception at all, while others, say offering certain types of birth control, such as intrauterine devices, make them complicit in abortion. Most companies with more than 50 employees who do not provide the coverage, will face fines of $100 per day per employee. Store like Hobby Lobby would be fined $475 million a year for its 13,000 workers. The decision came on the last day of the Supreme Court’s term.
