Palin makes no move to formally endorse GOP candidate

With Sarah Palin making the formal announcement not to run for president, the focus has shifted to which, if any, candidate will gain her formal endorsement. Palin has criticized the three Republican forerunners, Rick Perry, Herman Cain and Mitt Romney. Stephen Bannon, the filmmaker behind the Palin documentary “The Undefeated,” said, “I do not think it’s a foregone conclusion that she will endorse any candidate… If it does happen, it would be strategic, not something that would just be thrown out there.”

Palin said she looked forward to hearing from potential candidates, and even offering help. Most of the Republican campaigns said Palin’s endorsement would be welcome. Romney’s campaign, which has charted a more moderate course, said only “We want everyone’s endorsement.”
