Kerry’s concerns for Israel during peace talk

0

Secretary of State John Kerry recently met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for over three hours in Jerusalem on Friday, pushing for a peace deal for the Israelis and Palestinians.

Three Republican senators also met with Netanyahu to share some of Israel’s concerns. Senator Lindsey Graham said that the Prime Minister named two major concerns: the threat of a nuclear Iran and the marginalization of Israel by Palestinians going directly outside the peace talks to United Nations to seek statehood. Graham was accompanied by Senators John McCain and John Barrasso, who also share the prime minister’s concerns. All three senators support a lasting peace process, but not one that puts Israel at a disadvantage. Kerry stated that this was an effort to “provide agreed guidelines for a permanent status agreement, a full and final peace treaty between the parties.”
