GOP candidates to debate economy

The GOP nomination field has shifted dramatically in the last 19 days. With Sarah Palin and Chris Christie no longer up for consideration, it has settled somewhat. Since the last Republican presidential debate, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has slipped from his front-runner spot due to poor debate performance and a weak showing at a Florida straw poll.

At a debate Tuesday night in Hanover, New Hampshire, the focus will be on the economy. With Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at the top in current national polls, he will likely face attacks from his rivals. There could also be comments directed toward his religion, which has been in the public eye since Perry supported Rev. Robert Jeffress called it a “cult.”
