Shooting at community college in Houston

Three people have reportedly been injured in connection with a shooting on the north Harris County campus of Lone Star College. At around 1pm college officials alerted students and faculty to the danger and instructed them to “take immediate shelter where you are.” Less than 10 minutes after that, the college posted an alert reading: “LSC-North Harris campus evacuation is in progress. A couple of armed suspects reported; injuries reported.” A neighboring high school was also placed on lockdown during the shooting and in its aftermath.

According to Jed Young, the college’s executive director of communications, the two suspects began shooting at each other. Two students got caught in the cross fire were injured. One suspect is in custody, while the other, described as a black male, 18 to 20 years of age wearing a red shirt and Falcons cap,  fled the scene and is still being searched for by police.
