Romney criticizes Obama administration in Libyan conflict

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney criticized the Obama administration for early responses to the attacks in Libya that killed the Libyan ambassador and several other embassy members. Romney accused Obama of sending miss signals early on when the violence was first reported. What Romney is referring to is a statement set by the Cairo embassy, which condemned “efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.”

“The president takes responsibility not just for the words that come from his mouth, but also for the words that come from his ambassadors , from his administration, form his embassies, from his state department,” Romney said. “They clearly sent mixed messages to the world.” The Obama administration said a statement expressing its shock that Romney would find this time of national mourning to launch a political attack. The original comments by Romney were made before learning of the U.S diplomat’s death.
