Warrants regarding the kidnapping of Hannah Anderson were unsealed on Wednesday, revealing her kidnapper, James DiMaggio “tortured and killed” Anderson’s mother and brother before kidnapping her after her cheerleading practice. The warrants said, “DiMaggio tortured and killed his best friend’s wife and eight-year-old son. DiMaggio also shot and killed the family dog.” The warrants didn’t reveal any details as to how DiMaggio tortured the victims. They also claimed DiMaggio set his house on fire after killing Anderson’s mother and brother.
The warrants also revealed that DiMaggio was shot by an FBI agent at least five times when he was caught in Idaho on Saturday. According to Coroner Nathan Hess, authorities will release the exact cause of death after toxicology reports have been completed.
