Man shot for texting in movie theatre

On Monday, Chad Oulson, 43, was shot at a movie theatre in Florida by 71 year old Curtis Reeves after a dispute about texting during the previews of the film. Oulson, who was sitting with his wife in front of Reeves, was texting his daughter’s babysitter when Reeves asked him to put away his phone.

The two men began to argue and Reeves walked out of the auditorium. Reeves was apparently going to complain to a theatre employee, but never addressed his complaint with any supervisor. When Reeves returned, Oulson asked if he had told on him for texting. Again, the two began to argue and police say Oulson threw a bag of popcorn at Reeves before Reeves took out a .380 semiautomatic handgun and shot Oulson.  Oulson is charged with second degree murder.
