Baltimore County police have confirmed that a 10-year-old boy was hit by a train near Middle River. Officers received a report of someone being hit, but were not able to find a victim while examining the scene.
On Sunday, an Amtrak engineer called and said he believed he hit a child on the tracks. Police found evidence that someone had been hit; they found fishing tackle and a shirt underneath the train.
Police later learned that Tyler Eugene had been taken to the hospital by his father. His father reported to police that Tyler had fallen off playground equipment.
Police say Tyler confirmed that he was in fact hurt on the tracks.
