Montgomery County yanks strawberry milk from the menu

The Montgomery County school system has announced that strawberry milk will no longer be served at school.

The elimination of strawberry milk will be implemented in January.  According to Marla R. Caplon, Montgomery’s director of food and nutrition services, the drink should be removed from schools due to its excessive artificial ingredients.

Eighteen percent of all milk served at Montgomery schools is strawberry milk and 15 percent of milk sales are unflavored milk.

Chocolate milk, which makes up 67 percent of milk sales, will remain on the menu.
