Maryland – Baltimore officers charged in Freddie Gray death sue State’s Attorney

0

Officer William Porter and Sgt. Alicia White, two of six officers facing criminal charges in the death of Freddie Gray, filed suit against Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby and Maj. Sam Cogan on May 2. Porter and White both face charges of manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office. Porter’s trial in November resulted in a mistrial and he is scheduled for retrial in September. White is scheduled to go to trial in October. The officers are alleging that Mosby knowingly made false statements about the wrongdoings of the officers. The suit cites statements Mosby made that accuse Porter and White of ignoring Gray’s cries for help in the back of the transport wagon.
