Man dies after being handcuffed

A Baltimore man died in Elkridge Saturday after being handcuffed during a traffic stop.

According to Howard County police 51-year-old Hakeem Muhammad was pulled over for suspended tags on southbound Route 1 at the exit to Route 100 West.

Muhammad was placed in handcuffs and then mentioned that he was not feeling well before collapsing to the ground.

He was taken to Howard County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
