Hollywood star Ellen DeGeneres proved that good deeds do not always go unrecognized.
The talk show host awarded New Hampshire waitress Sarah Hoidahl a check for $10,000 for picking up the lunch tab of two National Guard members affected by the shutdown.
A picture posted on the New Hampshire National Guard’s Facebook page caused the story spread online. DeGeneres’ producers took notice and Hoidahl was invited to the show.
The $27.75 tab was also paid back to the waitress in cash, along with a 50-inch screen television and DeGeneres’ notion, “You’re a good person.”
