Governor O’Malley to speak at Democratic National Convention

Governor Martin O’Malley of the blue state of Maryland will be a speaker at the Democratic National Convention on September 4, in Charlotte, N.C. O’Malley also spoke at the convention in 2004. Additional speakers were announced by the Democratic National Convention Committee on Monday. O’Malley, who is the chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, has a high profile in the party, often appearing on television shows. The Maryland governor is currently serving his second term.

Other speakers include former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine and former President Bill Clinton. Julian Castro, the mayor of San Antonio, will be the first keynote Latino speaker at the convention.
