A Baltimore City police officer has been placed under arrest after he is accused of killing a stray dog. Baltimore City Police recall that around 9 in the morning on Saturday they responded to a call of a woman who said she’d been bitten on the hand by a stray dog. “Unfortunately, at some point after that dog was contained with use of the dog pole, one of our officers used a knife and cut the dog’s throat,” said Dep. Commissioner Dean Palmere, Baltimore City Police. There is no indication that the dog had tried attacking the officer. The officer is now under arrest for a felony charge of animal cruelty and has been suspended without pay.
