Famed TV actor Sherman Hemsley died Tuesday at the age of 74. Hemsley, most famous for his role as George Jefferson on “All in the Family” and its spinoff, “The Jeffersons,” passed away at his home in El Paso, Texas. The actor was never married and didn’t have any children. Additional information surrounding Hemsley’s death has not been released.
Hemsley played funnyman George Jefferson for 15 years. The actor also appeared on TV shows like “Amen,” “Dinasaurs,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and, most recently, “House of Payne.”
