In the wake of the movie theater massacre that left 12 dead and 58 wounded in Aurora, Colorado at a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” on Friday July 20, the studio behind the film has made a donation to the victims. Warner Brothers Studio pledged to make a contribution to Colorado’s Community First Foundation on Monday, a representative for the film studio confirmed.

Community First Foundation was described by GivingFirst.org as a “longstanding community foundation,” which has “established the Aurora Victim Relief Fund in partnership with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.” The website said contributions to the fund will aim at meeting the short- and long-term needs of the shooting victims and their families, “and, as funds are available, the broad needs of those affected in the community.” The Warner Bros. representative didn’t have any details on the amount, but the donation is reportedly “substantial.”
