“Teen Mom” star ordered to prison

MTV’s “Teen Mom’s” Amber Portwood will be in an Indiana prison for the next two years or more after opting out of a drug-treatment program. Circuit Judge David Happe of Madison County, Indiana ruled Tuesday that the 22-year-old reality-show star must serve five years in prison. The sentence, which he imposed earlier this year when Portwood pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge, will likely be dropped to two years for good behavior. Portwood previously avoided prison with a plea deal that included drug rehab, but she dropped out of the program last month.

Portwood received probation in 2010 for domestic battery charges arising from an incident with her now 3-year-old daughter’s father that was broadcast on the MTV show. Her daughter is in the custody of her father, Gary Shirley.
