O.J. Simpson gets parole in robbery case

O.J. Simpson has been granted parole on charges coming from a kidnapping and armed robbery conviction that occurred in 2008. The crime involved the hold up of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room.

On Wednesday, the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners approved the former NFL player’s parole request.

Simpson will not be leaving correctional facilities, however. Since he was convicted on multiple charges, Simpson still faces at least four more years in prison.

Simpson appeared before a parole panel on Thursday to plead for leniency. He said he regretted his actions and that he has tried to be a model citizen while behind bars.
