Judge dismisses Paula Deen lawsuit

On Monday, a federal judge signed off on a deal to dismiss a discrimination lawsuit against celebrity chef Paula Deen.

A civil lawsuit accused Deen and her brother of racial discrimination and sexual harassment. The lawsuit was officially dismissed when District Court Judge William T. Moore Jr. approved a deal reached by attorneys last week.

The case was closed and former employee Lisa Jackson cannot sue again for the same issue. Both sides have agreed to pay their own court costs and legal fees.

Jackson sued last year, claiming she worked in an environment full of racial slurs and sexual innuendos during her five years of employment at Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House.
