Tate Taylor, the director of “The Help”, said on Monday that he will be making a biographical film about James Brown in Mississippi starting this fall.
“Every frame will be shot in Mississippi. We’re even doing Paris, France, in Mississippi. … Vietnam, as well, in Mississippi,” Taylor said
Filming will begin in November near Natchez, a town on the Mississippi river in a town located in the southwestern corner of the state. In January and February, the film will be shot in the capital city of Jackson.
Taylor said he would know in the next week who would be playing Brown.
The film will begin with Brown at 5-years-old and will extend into 1993.
