Blaine Young, the president of Frederick County’s Board of County Commissioners, says he will not enter the race to become the governor of Maryland.

On Saturday, the Republican announced his decision during a gathering at the Frederick Fairgrounds.

Young says he will endorse Charles Lollar, a Charles County businessman, in the 2014 race.

The race is to succeed Gov. Martin O’Malley, a Democrat who cannot run for reelection because of term limits.
